Boston Harbor
Author Last Post
Boston Harbor is well known but by passed by most cruising sailors for some strange reason. The Harbor is loaded with great marinas to tie up to and enjoy this great historical city. I won't describe every marina but for a down town location near some great restaurants pick the Boston Waterboat Marina http://www.waterboatmarina.com/. Great owner and great location. You want to get out of the city, Spectacle Island Marina. If you are a yacht club member, there are many yacht clubs to choose from and if you just want to anchor chose the area behind Georges Island on Gallops Island, there are some free moorings available if you get there first, these are maintained by the non profit organization to enhance the islands.

On the east side of the airport is Winthrop Harbor home of my Yacht Club the Winthrop Yacht Club. WYC is a private club that has agreements with other yacht clubs, we have a launch that runs 9 to 9 weekends and 5 to 9 weekdays. There are a few club moorings available through the dockmaster. Just north is Crystal Cove Marina Fuel is available and across the street is a small market for light shopping.

Try Boston, you will enjoy the experience.
